Markets Are Calm ahead of the Long Weekend
By ODA UK | Published at
The session was very calm again today ahead of the long weekend. Trading volumes for wheat were rather weak. Good U.S. maize sales were not able to fuel any movement for grains. Only soybean oil benefited from the support of higher-than-expected sales. Soybean oil rose nearly 2%.
Rapeseed did not benefit from this support after the euro rose again against the dollar by 0.7%. It has now surpassed the symbolic threshold of $1.20.
Markets in Paris and Chicago will be closed Monday, 1 January. As a result, we will not publish an ODA Info. Watch for the next update on agricultural markets on Tuesday, 2 January 2018.
The entire ODA team wishes you a happy new year 2018.
